Volunteering Foundation Board of Directors

Volunteer Board Members are active participants at Family Services of the North Shore .

The Board of Directors (Foundation) acts in a position of trust and is responsible for the effective governance of the Foundation. The Board reports to the Agency Governing Board. The Foundation is the fundraising arm of the Agency and actively solicits gifts and cultivates strong relationships. The Board participates with Agency Board to develop Strategic Plan and oversees the management of the Foundation assets and investments.

 

Qualifications

To ensure a strong and effective board, the Foundation would expect expertise in two of the following areas.  As well, Board members would reflect the diversity of the North Shore.

  • Finance & Audit
  • Investment
  • Legal
  • Fund Development
  • Communications / Marketing
  • Previous Board experience / governance
  • Community Profile / Influence
  • Previous volunteer experience
  • Past Agency committee experience

 

Other Opportunities:

Many of our Board members began as committee members. Volunteer committee members help with our many fundraising events and also oversee our Communications and Branding.
