Salesforce Supports Wonder Wheels, pre-loved bikes for local families!

Help get more people on bikes this holiday season with Wonder Wheels!

What is Wonder Wheels?

Wonder Wheels, originally launched as “Bikes for Tykes” by James Wilson, owner of Obsession: Bikes, is a community initiative focused on providing bikes to families in need on the North Shore. Since 2006, the program has partnered with Family Services of the North Shore, distributing over 3,400 bikes to date, including around 200 annually through the Christmas Bureau. The program was renamed Wonder Wheels to capture the joy, freedom, and adventure that riding a bike brings to people of all ages. As demand in the community grows, Wonder Wheels is encouraging local support to help bring the joy of biking to more families this holiday season.

How is Salesforce supporting Wonder Wheels?

In the spirit of Salesforce’s 1-1-1 model, Salesforce is supporting Wonder Wheels by:

  1. VTO shifts to help the Obsession: Bikes team with fixing up pre-loved bikes and ensuring they are safe and road-ready.
  2. Collecting donations to support the program. North Shore Family Services will issue every donor a tax receipt and qualifying employee donations will be matched by Salesforce. Check out the #wonderwheelsvancouver Slack channel for more information on how to request a donation match.
  3. A donation bin is set-up in the lobby of the Vancouver office (7th floor) to collect new or gently used bicycle parts to be used. Full bicycles are also accepted – more information on Slack.
