Current Opportunities

 

Manager of Clinical Practice

This position has three primary components:

  1. Staff supervision – You will provide regular, individual clinical supervision and support to staff in assigned programs.  You will provide ad hoc supervision as required to address emerging issues, critical incidents and case consultations.  You will provide group supervision for our Adult Counselling & Children & Family teams and participate in the teams’ monthly administrative meeting.
  2. Intern Program – Starting in September 2025, you will supervise approximately 3 clinical interns each year.  As part of the Intern Supervision team, you will provide periodic evening and/or Saturday coverage to support the Interns.  You will work with the Coordinator of the Intern program to develop and expand Intern training, and you will provide training opportunities for interns and staff.
  3. Agency Management – You will attend and participate in semi-monthly Clinical team meetings and participate in Agency Directors & Managers meetings.  As a member of the Clinical management team, you will provide back-up support to clinical counsellors in other programs when other managers are absent. 

The Agency is using a hybrid work model where you will work in the Agency’s office and from your own home office.  Services will be provided in person, virtually and over the phone. 

This position is a .6 FTE position (21 hours per week). Workdays must include Wednesdays and Thursdays to facilitate attendance at meetings.  For more information, and to apply, click here.

Clinical Counselling Graduate Internship

At Family Services of the North Shore, we offer a comprehensive internship program for Master’s-level counselling and social work students who need to complete their practicum and professional registration requirements.

Our 10-month program provides interns the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience within a community-based counselling agency, while enabling the Agency to continue its tradition of providing in-depth, affordable counselling services to North Shore residents.

Under the guidance of an individual staff supervisor, each intern is fully involved in all aspects of the counselling process and may work with individual adults and/or children and assist in group facilitation.

On an annual basis we serve:

    • Over 10,400 individuals
    • Close to 3,000 children

We provide more than 11,300 hours of counselling (including low- and no-fee services). Our volunteers also provide nearly 10,000 hours of service.
